2025 TTXC Roundtable Meeting Advances Strategic Planning to Shape Future of Taiwan's Cultural Technology

As part of the 2025 Taiwan Technology x Culture Expo (TTXC), jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the Kaohsiung City Government, the International Forum was held on October 22-23. Following the forum, a roundtable meeting took place on October 23. Some domestic and international participants from industry, government, and academia attending this year's TTXC were invited. Participants exchanged views on “How to connect internationally and expand influence,” “TTXC brand development and strategic recommendations,” and “Future trends in cultural technology and breakthrough points for business models.” The discussion also covered developing TTXC into a cross-domain synergy platform for showcasing and advancing Taiwan’s cultural technology.

Deputy Minister of Culture Sue Wang explained that TTXC was originally established to create a showcase platform for Taiwan's outstanding new media works, technology applications, and teams. The global cultural technology market continues to develop in multiple directions and is gradually taking shape, but the overall shape of the industry ecosystem has not yet been finalized. Therefore, TTXC serves to gather key figures and cutting-edge perspectives, continuously strengthening Taiwan’s presence and readiness in cultural technology exhibitions and performances, while using Taiwan's perspective to engage internationally and help shape emerging trends. Deputy Minister Wang thanked attendees for providing theoretically grounded insights on business models for cultural technology, noting that these strategic recommendations will be incorporated into future expo planning.

Kaohsiung Bureau of Cultural Affairs Director Wang Wen-tsui noted that TTXC serves as an important platform for advancing Kaohsiung's smart city and content economy initiatives. As AI and immersive experiences become mainstream in cultural consumption, Kaohsiung is positioning the entire city as a venue, building its cultural development on the foundation of "content is the core, technology is applied, venues are the practice ground, and talent is the foundation," thereby leveraging Kaohsiung's influence as a southern powerhouse for film, television, and cultural technology.

The roundtable participants offered observations and recommendations for TTXC. They affirmed TTXC's success in presenting rich domestic and international cultural technology exhibitions and experimental content over the past three years, effectively fulfilling its platform function. They recommended continuing to build international networks and strengthening collaboration with similar festivals worldwide. Regarding TTXC's discourse topics, they recommended incorporating discussions on technological and humanistic dimensions alongside forward-looking technology and practical industry applications to deepen its scope of influence. They also suggested leveraging the platform to invite major global communication technology players, helping Taiwan’s cultural technology capabilities gain greater international recognition.

HTC VIVE Arts Director Celina Yeh believes TTXC should serve as an international market catalyst, deepening upstream, midstream, and downstream exchanges through forums and workshops to accelerate industry commercialization.
