Global Cultural and Tech Leaders Converge in Kaohsiung for TTXC International Forum, Pioneering New Trends

The TTXC 2025 Taiwan Technology x Culture Expo, themed "AI Synergy for the Next Content Economy," will be held from October 10 to 26 at the Kaohsiung Pier-2 Art Center. From October 21 to 26, an Industry Week will take place, featuring more than 30 industry exchange events covering AI, XR, virtual production, immersive content, and cultural experiences. Close to 100 top professionals from Taiwan and around the world have been invited.

This year, the inaugural TTXC International Forum will be held from October 22 to 23 at Pinway (Warehouse No. 8, Pier-2 Art Center) in Kaohsiung. The two-day forum will feature six sessions of talks, focusing on key topics like film and TV special effects, immersive content, IP entertainment, and innovative venue operations in response to the global wave of generative AI. Heavyweight speakers from Taiwan and abroad have been invited to exchange ideas, showcasing the infinite possibilities where culture and technology intersect.

The Ministry of Culture stated that TTXC promotes professional dialogue through the international forum, further enhancing the global visibility of Taiwan's cultural technology and leading development trends in Taiwan. The invited speakers' lineup aligns with recent trends in cultural technology. It features Daniel Son, founder of Westworld Studio, the Korean VFX company behind Netflix's "Squid Game" and "Queen of Tears"; Daniel Seah, CEO of Wētā FX, one of the world's top visual-effects companies; Arif Khan, director of AR/VR creative experiences at Universal Studios Japan, who created a VR attraction based on the popular IP "Demon Slayer"; and Samantha King, program director at VIVE Arts, who has worked with institutions like the Palace of Versailles and the Musée d'Orsay, among other pioneers. Through professional exchanges and international dialogue, Taiwan will explore the future opportunities and challenges of the cultural technology industry with the global community.


On October 22, the first day of the forum, three sessions will focus on industry trends and the content economy. The first session, Cultural-Tech New Horizons: Industry Ecosystem and Global Dialogue." will feature the Taiwan Creative Content Agency presenting its "2025 Cultural Technology Industry Ecosystem Research." The presentation will outline the current state of cultural technology in Taiwan, covering content creation, immersive experiences, technology application, and distribution. It will use this assessment to develop a future strategic blueprint. The second session, "Virtual Production Unleashed," will feature a discussion with Daniel Son, founder of Westworld Studio; Daniel Seah, CEO of Wētā FX; Wan-Chun Alex Ma, a Meta researcher who worked on "Iron Man 3" and "Furious 7"; and Chia-Chi Lin, founder of Moonshine Studio. They will focus on how AI is driving innovative virtual production applications, speeding up content creation, and expanding the entertainment industry. The third session, "IP NEXT," will feature Arif Khan, Creative Experience Director at Universal Studios Japan; Chih-Hung Ouyang, Chairman of Brogent Technologies; and Jimmy Cheng, Vice President of Operations at Digital Domain. They will discuss how IP and technology owners can collaborate to maximize the value of intellectual property, expand content, and seize global market opportunities.


On October 23, the focus will shift to immersive brands and cultural experiences. The "Immersive Brandfront" session will feature Ersin Han Ersin, Creative Director of the London art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast; Jérôme De Baecque, Business Development Director for Asia Pacific at Moment Factory; Jay Tseng, founder of Ultracombos; and Albert Chen, founder of Surprise Lab. They will discuss how multi-sensory experiences, XR performances, and interactive reality are reshaping brand value and creating new business models. The session "Next-Gen Cultural Interaction" will feature Samantha King, Program Director at VIVE Arts, who will share case studies from top cultural venues. She'll discuss how AI, XR, and interactive technologies are reshaping exhibitions and creating new cultural experiences. The final forum topic, "How Generative AI Redefines Creativity," will be based on the "Guidelines for the Application of Generative AI in Culture and Arts" recently published by the Ministry of Culture. The session will feature lawyer Pei-chang Lee, and Shyhnan Liu, research and development director at the Taiwan Design Research Institute, and Po-wei Wang, artistic director of the Digital Art Foundation, who will discuss how art and design can navigate the creative changes brought by generative AI.


The Kaohsiung City Government stated that TTXC's promotion symbolizes Taiwan's continued rise in the cultural technology sector. With Kaohsiung as a hub for film, television, and cultural tech in the south, Taiwan will deepen international exchanges, showcasing its dual strengths of cultural heritage and technological innovation while influencing the global cultural technology landscape.

The TTXC International Forum provides an opportunity for cross-disciplinary dialogue among industry experts and is also open to the public. It encourages anyone interested in film, television, technology, and cultural creation to attend.
