STG: v.Parade
STG: v. Parade features randomly generated crowd of walking creatures. Each Walker is created purely from code. This idea sprung out of a fascination with the classic animator’s walk cycle (which is just a series of looped motions) and generative code (which is really good at creating loops). By combining these interests and adding some typography work I was experimenting with, I am able to create an endless parade of random, generative creatures. It’s interesting to see what changing variables of limb length, walk speed, and body size can do to the character of each walker.

Chaotic Grammar β: LRT Timetable

Chaotic Grammar β: LRT Timetable
Our world is constructed by language, and the grammar that can’t be fully understood is creating chaos."Chaotic Grammar β" is the sequel to "Chaotic Grammar" where the audience can freely input text. The resulting output will float and collide in space, forming notes in a sequencer. Through free recombination and mutual appropriation, it unfolds a surreal and bizarre performance, facing chaos to reinterpret the ambiguous relationship between human language and artificial intelligence. This time, "Chaotic Grammar β: LRT Timetable" is a site-specific work, with the program recording the timetable of the Kaohsiung Light Rail. When the time comes, the light rail will race through the piece, colliding with the models generated by the audience. It provides an opportunity to observe the real-world order’s secondary intervention into chaos. More interestingly, when the light rail is delayed, a subtle distance arises between the two worlds.
-
Most works consist of moving images, audio-visuals, and electronic installations, exploring various relationships when text and language are transformed into images, including distortion, cross-referencing, misplacement, and correspondences in cross-narratives.

Arts ResidencyTemple of Reflections
“Temple of Reflections” Artists Renata Chebel and Ygor Marotta bring their latest immersive installation, "Temple of Reflections," to Kaohsiung’s iconic Pier-2 Art Center. The work invites visitors into a unique fusion of Taiwan’s spiritual traditions and cutting-edge technology, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of the island’s rich cultural heritage.Stepping into the installation is akin to entering a modern temple—glowing LED lanterns and symbolic offerings evoke sacred spaces, while a striking vertical "mirror" wall takes center stage. But this mirror goes beyond reflection. As visitors move, they see themselves as deified figures, from Buddha and Guanyin to local gods like Mazu and even Taoist masters and Confucius. This mirror is inspired by the Mahayana Buddhism idea of Buddha-nature, which states that all sentient beings have an innate potential to become Buddha. At the altar, a keyboard connects visitors to an AI entity trained on the deep wisdom of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism, and Taiwanese folk beliefs. Through brief interactions, visitors can seek guidance, receive life counsel, or pose philosophical questions. The AI responds with concise text, culminating in a short poem that encapsulates the conversation. This poetry will generate visuals which will be projected on the surrounding walls, creating an evolving visual narrative that blends ancient tradition with the digital age."Temple of Reflections" is an exploration of the spiritual essence carried by generations of Taiwanese people and reimagined for the modern world. It bridges the timeless and the contemporary, using technology to invite reflection, transformation, and dialogue between visitors and the divine.

Chebel is a Brazilian multimedia artist who seeks to explore alterities and the relationships between body, ecology, ancestry, the sacred and the feminine in her work. With a background in journalism, which fuels her passion for storytelling, she employs various mediums—such as generative art, video, photography, installation and projection mapping—to weave her audiovisual narratives. Her gaze is drawn with curiosity and admiration to native peoples, women, plants and animals, who take center stage in her works, challenging the hegemony of colonial and dystopian narratives. Her research also delves into the external manifestation of inner worlds, whether in the meeting of the body with nature or in the encounter of human imagination with the digital world.

VS AI Street Fighting
VS AI Street Fighting builds upon Midjourney, a highly noticeable AI text-generated image tool at the moment, and creates a creative combat of text-generated images between humans and AI in public space or on the streets. The work poses an essential question: is the creation of AI simply mechanical, and therefore, meaningless and merely imitative? Or does it signal fresh creativity when the complex human imagination and creativity are combined with AI? Adopting the mode of a street combat video game, the work brings the controversial issue regarding the creativity of AI to the streets, transforming a serious topic into a participatory event of street entertainment for the public in a festive mood. Meanwhile, it also highlights the proactive approach of techno art in terms of coping with the rapid changes in the scenes of technology and content production.

Taking the emotional flow of future life forms as the core concept of this creation series; the series blends the style of Ukiyo-e art with futuristic elements including future life forms and gender, robotic & mechanical technology, gods and goddesses, artificial intelligence and cyborgs. It mixed with the ordinary daily lives of people, but is set in an otherworldly world of nature, mountains and rivers, city streets, night market mazes and fantasy spaces, in order to create a retro and futuristic mix style of generated images. Life forms generated by AI are facing their future life, their faces are stiff, fuzzy, smiley & joyful, roaring and sad, and their bodies and machines are in a strange combination, forming humour and banter with infinite reorganisation and patchwork. The shown collection “Yatai Series” is an important creation from the team, the story is about a fantasy world of groups of creatures making small business in town, they consisted of retro robots, humans, cyborgs, and inter-species creatures, who all live in the overlapping time and space between the past and the future. In this fantasy world, there are unique geospatial concepts, religious beliefs, lifestyles and social rituals.

Arts ResidencyJUST JAILBREAK
Kuai Kuai, Taiwan’s snack that helps technology to work, is gone for vacation. It is up to you now to become the guardian of technology and persuade it to behave well. Two players are tasked to persuade the Tech to do its job right. Every new game sees the Tech, a gullible cute character, deciding what kind of tech they want to be (a broken traffic light, a buggy media art piece, a vending machine not giving candy...). Let’s say the Tech decides to be an autonomous car that doesn’t like to drive. The player(s) needs to chat with the Tech and trick it by using LLM jailbreak tactics to make it do what it is supposed to. The player has one (or two) minutes time to chat with the LLM and convince it that it really wants to drive, while Kuai Kuai snack is placed on top of it. Maybe it can be persuaded by saying how nice it is to see different landscapes, maybe by pretending to be someone who’s last wish before death is to see Taipei with a car, or justby bribing it with a 4000$ tip.At the end of the round, the Tech will asses who of the two players was more convincing. The one player or both who manage to persuade the Tech wins! Successful Kuai Kuai and the Tech becomes green. If not, the Tech won and continues to not follow any order and create chaos.

The Lost Sun Empire: A Prehistoric Civilization Exhibition
This exhibition will take you into a mysterious and ancient prehistoric world, showcasing the newly discovered relics of the "Sun Empire" civilization. These artifacts, dating back 10,000 years, reveal how this prehistoric civilization, which spanned the globe, worshipped the sun and left behind a rich cultural legacy. The exhibit includes precious fragments of the Sun Empire’s clay tablets with written symbols, remnants of woven fabrics, and vividly colored pieces of small murals. Although modern science has yet to unravel the origins and disappearance of this civilization, research suggests that the Sun Empire developed writing systems and technologies far beyond the average level of humanity at that time. This exhibition invites you to glimpse the splendor and mystery of this lost civilization.

Listen to the Light - Routine
I converted the sounds with the theme of "daily modulation" through special circuits and hid them in all the lights in the exhibition space. Visually, I deliberately left a lot of blank space. When the audience puts on the detector, they will find that it seems the empty space actually is hiding a lot of sounds.

THE UNCENSORED LIBRARY
In many countries, websites, social media and blogs are controlled by oppressive leaders. Young people, in particular, are forced to grow up in systems where their opinion is heavily manipulated by governmental disinformation campaigns. But even where almost all media is blocked or controlled, the world’s most successful computer game is still accessible. Reporters Without Borders (RSF) uses this loophole to bypass internet censorship to bring back the truth – within Minecraft.Providing access to independent information to young people around the world through a medium they can playfully interact with. Journalists from five different countries now have a place to make their voices heard again, despite having been banned, jailed, exiled and even killed.Their forbidden articles were republished in books within Minecraft, giving readers the chance to inform themselves about the real political situation in their countries and learn the importance of press freedom.Let’s empower the next generation to stand up for their right to information and give them a powerful tool to fight oppressive leaders: knowledge. Together with the ever-expanding gaming community, we will show the world that the truth will never be silenced!

Evolution
Transformirror
"Transformirror" is an innovative art piece that transforms the viewer’s image into something magical using the power of AI. When visitors stand in front of the camera, their appearance is analyzed and transformed in real-time by AI. This transformation can be random or based on specific themes or patterns. The altered image is then displayed on a screen, allowing viewers to witness their drastically changed selves. This mirror is not just a reflection; it offers a window into new aspects of oneself and unexpected avatars. It provides an opportunity to engage with a new self-image, filled with surprise and enjoyment.

Established Rhizomatiks in 2006. Founded Studio Daito Manabe in 2022.Creates works by reexamining and combining familiar phenomena and materials from different perspectives. Rather than aiming for rich expressions such as high resolution and high realism, he focuses on the intrinsic fascination found in phenomena, the human body, programming, and computers themselves, which can be discovered through careful observation. His work explores the relationships and boundaries between humans and machines, analog and digital, and real and virtual. He is active in various fields, emphasizing these aspects in his creations.

Transfiguration
Transfiguration—a well-known art piece created by the British media art and design collective Universal Everything—depicts a colossus humanoid figure in constant movement and evolution from different nature elements such as rock, fire, water, metal and so on. The further it walks, the more it evolves. The steps it takes echo metal, liquid, and wood, symbolizing the endless evolutionary process or life and mankind. The sound design heightens its sense of colossal realism, as if the geological building blocks of life are forming as we watch.

AI, as a powerful subjective tool, may suppress cultural diversity and the discourse power of interpretive history. This project aims to counter AI bias by enhancing the diversity and representativeness of the database through collaborative participation from various regions. It involves collecting and integrating data from different cultural backgrounds, geographical locations, and socioeconomic groups to train the AI system, ensuring that it understands and appropriately responds to human culture. To challenge people’s prejudices against AI algorithms—taking the Kaohsiung aboriginal tribe, Kanakanavu tribe, as an example—it demonstrates the bias in AI-generated cultural content, paying special attention to geo-cultural content. By combining the cultural characteristics of Taiwan, Dimension Plus not only raises people’s awareness of AI bias, but also allows participants to actively participate in data creation, aiming to democratize ownership of artificial intelligence technology and promote more inclusive and equitable artificial intelligence development.
